Lowcountry Boil

Sale price$450.00

A feast for the eyes (and the soul), Laurie McIntosh’s Lowcountry Boil brings the beloved Southern tradition to life in vibrant linocut form. Piled high with shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes, this colorful print captures all the messy joy of a backyard boil—checkered tablecloth and all.

Bold, cheerful, and unmistakably coastal, it’s the perfect piece for a kitchen, dining room, or anywhere that good food and good company are celebrated.

Laurie creates her linocut reductions using a bold, hands-on process that mirrors her dynamic approach to art. Working from a single block of linoleum, she carves the image in reverse, inks it with one color, and prints it onto paper. Then she carves away more of the block, inks again in a new color, and prints the next layer—building the image step by step. Because each layer removes part of the block permanently, there's no going back—an all-in method often called “suicide printing.” It’s fearless, layered, and full of energy—just like Laurie’s work.

Cotton paper.
