A Dozen Happy Hounds
All ears, all joy—Laurie McIntosh’s A Dozen Happy Hounds is a tail-wagging tribute to pure canine exuberance. This lively linocut captures twelve expressive hounds bounding forward in a joyful pack, each with its own quirky personality and floppy charm.
Rendered in Laurie’s signature bold lines and warm, earthy tones, this limited edition print (hand-signed and numbered) is a must for dog lovers, hunt enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates art that makes you smile. Large in size and big on spirit—these hounds are ready to run straight into your heart.
Linocut reduction is a relief printing process in which Laurie carves a reverse image in a block of linoleum. The image is inked in single color and printed on paper. She then carves an additional layer, applies a different color, and prints again. The process is repeated until all color layers are applied. Because the process does not allow her to adjust a prior layer, the process is sometimes referred to as "suicide printing."
