Aaron Baldwin

Aaron is a native of McClellanville, a small fishing village along the South Carolina coast. Growing up there in the 1970s felt like living on an island—isolated in the best of ways, and deeply connected to the rhythms of coastal life. He eventually left the coast to pursue his education, earning a B.S. in Graphic Communications and an M.F.A. in Painting, both from Clemson University.

He went on to teach studio art as an adjunct at Clemson and later at UNC Charlotte, where his wife was studying architecture. The couple eventually returned to McClellanville to raise their daughter, Marina, surrounded by the natural beauty and quiet charm of his hometown.

Throughout the years, Aaron has remained active as an artist. His work is included in the State of South Carolina Art Collection, and he has held gallery representation in Atlanta, Columbia, Charleston, and now Pawleys Island.
