Ralph Hollars
A prolific watercolorist of the Carolinas, Ralph Hollars captured both the mountain landscapes of Asheville and the breezy coastal charm of Pawleys Island. In the late 1940s, he served as president of the Asheville Artists Guild, helping lead the effort that would become the Asheville Art Museum. His watercolors—alive with color, movement, and a keen sense of place—range from quiet townscapes to sunlit beaches. Collectors along the Grand Strand will recognize his beloved Pawleys Island scenes, where his brushwork preserves the spirit of Lowcountry life as vividly today as when he first painted them.
