Wally's Artichokes
A fresh take on everyday beauty, Wally’s Artichokes is an original linocut print by Laurie McIntosh that celebrates the quiet charm of the produce aisle. Stacked artichokes burst with texture and pattern, rendered in rich green tones with bold graphic lines. A handwritten price tag and simple signage nod to small-town markets and honest, unpolished goodness—like something you'd spot at Wally’s, if you were lucky.
Perfect for kitchens, foodies, or anyone who finds art in the ordinary.
Laurie McIntosh creates her linocut reductions using a bold, hands-on process that mirrors her dynamic approach to art. Working from a single block of linoleum, she carves the image in reverse, inks it with one color, and prints it onto paper. Then she carves away more of the block, inks again in a new color, and prints the next layer—building the image step by step. Because each layer removes part of the block permanently, there's no going back—an all-in method often called “suicide printing.” It’s fearless, layered, and full of energy—just like Laurie’s work.
