Pawleys Island Shell Watercolor
Pawleys Island Shell is an original watercolor by local Pawleys Island artist (and legend) Vida Miller, inspired by the iconic shell that has long symbolized the “Blessed Isle.” Painted in layered washes of plum, charcoal, ivory, and soft coastal neutrals, this small piece carries the quiet texture and depth of something gathered from the shoreline.
Each shell is painted by hand, and just like the shells you find on the beach, no two are exactly alike. Subtle variations in color, shape, and brushwork are part of what make each one special.
The artwork measures 3" x 3" and comes framed in a simple driftwood-inspired frame with an attached easel back, so it can stand easily on a bookshelf, windowsill, bedside table, desk, or countertop. It’s compact, giftable, and easy to place anywhere that could use a little coastal soul.
Rooted in Pawleys Island tradition and created by a local artist, Pawleys Island Shell makes a meaningful keepsake for visitors, full-time residents, or anyone who carries the Lowcountry close to heart.
