Do Not Switch
Straight from the produce aisle with a wink—Do Not Switch by Laurie McIntosh is a bold linocut print packed with juicy red apples and just the right dash of attitude. The hand-lettered sign says what everyone's thinking: don’t mess with a good thing.
Graphic, clever, and full of charm, it’s perfect for kitchens, market walls, or anyone who appreciates a little everyday humor with their art.
Laurie creates her linocut reductions using a bold, hands-on process that mirrors her dynamic approach to art. Working from a single block of linoleum, she carves the image in reverse, inks it with one color, and prints it onto paper. Then she carves away more of the block, inks again in a new color, and prints the next layer—building the image step by step. Because each layer removes part of the block permanently, there's no going back—an all-in method often called “suicide printing.” It’s fearless, layered, and full of energy—just like Laurie’s work.
Cotton paper.
