The SC Crawfish Festival is back—and with it comes a piece of Pawleys Island history.
This original 1988 S.C. Crawfish Festival poster features artwork by Pawleys Island artist and Gray Man Gallery founder Vida Miller, created for one of the most beloved traditions in the history of the Waccamaw Neck.
Limited quantity – original posters from the 1988 festival.
Held at the Waccamaw House in Litchfield–Pawleys Island on April 29–30, 1988, the S.C. Crawfish Festival drew thousands of visitors during its heyday in the 1980s and early 1990s. Known for its lively mix of food, music, contests, and community gatherings, the festival became a defining event of “old Pawleys,” when locals and visitors gathered around long tables to enjoy crawfish, beach music, and the unmistakable energy of a coastal spring weekend.
Vida Miller’s vibrant illustration of bright red crawfish on a coastal table setting perfectly captures the spirit of the event. Printed for the 1988 festival, the poster has become a nostalgic piece of Pawleys Island history.
Now, as the Crawfish Festival returns for the first time since 1995, these original posters offer a rare connection to the festival’s early years and the community traditions that shaped the area.
A wonderful collectible for longtime locals, festival fans, or anyone who loves Pawleys Island history.
