Pufferfish #18

Sale price$195.00

Pufferfish #18 is a one-of-a-kind mixed media wall sculpture by Charleston artist Nick Kawczynski, created exclusively for Gray Man Gallery.

Equal parts coastal folk art, found-object sculpture, and playful conversation piece, this whimsical pufferfish begins as a hand-crafted papier-mâché form that is spray painted, detailed with acrylic accents, and fitted with individually inserted painted toothpicks to create its signature spines. Mounted to a reclaimed piece of weathered wood and finished with expressive googly eyes, the result is a character-filled work that feels right at home in any beach house, fishing cabin, or coastal retreat.

Nick's work is rooted in creativity, reuse, and reinvention. Many of his sculptures begin with everyday materials that might otherwise be discarded, allowing him to transform the ordinary into something unexpected and memorable. Pufferfish #18 captures the humor, personality, and charm that have quickly made Nick's work a favorite at Gray Man Gallery.

Mounted on reclaimed wood and ready to hang, this original mixed media sculpture brings texture, dimension, and a healthy dose of coastal character to any space.

Materials: Spray paint, acrylic paint, papier-mâché, painted toothpicks, googly eyes, string, coat hanger, and reclaimed wood.
