About the Artist: Melissa Castrillon is an English-Colombian illustrator whose richly decorative work draws inspiration from nature, traditional printmaking, folklore, and botanical forms. A graduate of the Cambridge School of Art, where she earned a master’s degree in children’s book illustration, Castrillon is known for her intricate compositions, striking color combinations, and imaginative approach to plants and animals. Her illustrations have a wonderfully timeless quality, blending the feel of vintage printmaking with a bold, contemporary use of color.
