Live Oak Dyptich I
Live Oak Diptych I by local artist Elizabeth Sheats captures the quiet rhythm of the Lowcountry—two sweeping live oaks rising along the water’s edge, their canopies layered in soft greens, teals, and sky-washed blues. Draped in hints of Spanish moss, the trees anchor the composition while the shoreline curves gently through the foreground, pulling the eye across the landscape.
Elizabeth’s signature palette leans cool and atmospheric here, with fluid brushwork that mimics shifting light over water and marsh. The result feels calm, expansive, and unmistakably coastal—less about a specific moment and more about that familiar sense of place found throughout Pawleys Island and the surrounding Lowcountry.
This original acrylic painting is gallery wrapped with fully painted edges, allowing it to be hung beautifully without a frame. It works as a strong standalone piece, but was created as part of a pair—Live Oak Diptych II—designed to be displayed together either horizontally or vertically for a larger, more immersive statement.
Whether collected on its own or alongside its companion, Live Oak Diptych I brings a refined, modern take on a classic Southern landscape—available at Gray Man Gallery in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where we’ve been showcasing local artists and custom framing since 1980.
