Nancy Jones Lowe

Nancy Jones Lowe is a local artist and educator whose work celebrates the beauty and importance of South Carolina's native birds. Through expressive, large-scale portraits, she captures the unique personality and quiet elegance of each species, encouraging viewers to take a closer look at the wildlife that shares our coastal home.

In the fall of 2019, Nancy learned that many of our local bird populations had declined. In response, she began creating a series of striking bird portraits to honor these remarkable species and draw attention to their conservation. Her work serves as both a celebration of the Lowcountry's natural beauty and a reminder of the importance of protecting it for future generations.
