Betsy Boyle

You may have heard the saying, “Find a job doing what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Betsy Boyle considers herself blessed to be one of the few who truly found that calling.

Her art career began nearly 40 years ago with a focus on portraiture. Her mother, Deloris Boyle—a retired portrait artist—has been both her teacher and mentor throughout her journey. It was Deloris who encouraged Betsy, then a young woman, to take her passion for art beyond the realm of a hobby. Since then, Betsy has completed hundreds of commissioned portraits.

After many years devoted primarily to portrait work, she expanded her artistic expression to include landscape painting. For a time, she owned and operated her own gallery, The Boyle Gallery, on the coast of South Carolina. Later, she added abstract art to her body of work. Betsy thrives on the creative process and finds joy in exploring new ideas and techniques.

Today, she paints from her home studio nestled along the marshes of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. She and her husband are the proud parents of four children and the grateful grandparents of seven amazing grandchildren. She also cherishes time spent with her 93-year-old mother, who lives nearby.

Betsy is deeply thankful to God for the gift of art and the ability to express herself through painting. Her hope is that her work brings joy to those who experience it and ultimately brings glory to the Lord.
