Allison Farr

Drawing and painting for as long as she can remember, Allison finds happiness and joy in immersing herself in the flow of creativity. She is a self-taught artist and enjoys a variety of subjects and mediums: architecture; organic shapes; human figures and portraits; nature; abstracts. Allison is able to contrast drawing and painting in detail while also rendering free-form shapes and bright splashes of color.

Having experienced profound loss throughout her life, visual art provides a way for Allison to communicate with others. In some ways art reflects her expression of the many dimensions of grief. She finds her most authentic self and experiences solace and comfort, even hope - through the process of creating.

Always learning and growing in her craft Allison considers herself to be much like her art: a true “work in progress.”

Allison is a graduate of the University of Georgia. She lives in Charlotte with her very bright and imaginative daughter, Margaret.
