Jeanne O'Neal

Jeanne O’Neal was raised as a Naval Commander’s daughter, moving often and gaining a rich variety of perspectives from life in numerous locales. Now rooted in Pawleys Island, she brings that broad worldview and deep appreciation for place to her art. A lifelong creative, Jeanne’s career naturally followed an artistic path—from teaching art and early childhood education to taking oil painting classes and workshops to refine her craft.

Originally working with watercolors, Jeanne has found a new passion in oil painting. In her studio, she escapes into a creative zone—experimenting, blending, comparing, and mixing—bringing to life the vibrant landscapes of the Lowcountry. She describes her style as realistic but heightened with brighter colors, capturing the essence of southern oaks, Spanish moss, radiant marsh sunsets, and dramatic coastal clouds.

Now fully embracing her role as a professional artist, Jeanne creates from the images she envisions, expressing her love for the region’s natural beauty. She lives in Georgetown with her husband and two teenage daughters.
