Jeanne O'Neal

Raised as a Naval Commander’s daughter, Jeanne Moore O’Neal grew up moving from coast to coast—collecting perspectives from places as varied as San Diego, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Those early travels instilled a love for landscapes, community, and storytelling through place—an influence that now runs through every brushstroke of her Lowcountry paintings.

Now proudly rooted in Pawleys Island, Jeanne brings that broad worldview and coastal spirit to her work. After years of painting in watercolor, she discovered a new creative passion in oils—drawn to their depth, richness, and forgiving nature. In her Georgetown studio, she slips into a creative rhythm of experimenting, blending, and mixing, capturing the glow of marsh sunsets, the twist of live oaks, and the drama of Lowcountry skies. She describes her style as realistic yet heightened with vibrant color—an invitation to see the familiar coast anew.

In 2025, Jeanne was selected as the official artist for the 36th Annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, a milestone that marked both professional recognition and a heartfelt connection to her coastal home. Her featured painting, Captain Andrew, celebrated one of Georgetown’s most beloved shrimp boats and went on to set a record for the highest amount ever raised at the South Carolina Maritime Museum auction—a testament to both her artistry and the community’s affection for her work.

Jeanne’s paintings are proudly represented by Gray Man Gallery in Pawleys Island. She lives in Georgetown with her husband, Bo, and their two daughters, Ashley and Chloe. Her paintings reflect the light, color, and quiet strength of the Lowcountry she calls home.
