April Bensch

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, April developed a deep appreciation for the visual and performing arts from an early age. Although her formal education is in Biology, April is largely self-taught and has built a professional art career spanning many years. Her diverse body of work includes murals, faux finishing, commissioned canvas and pet portraits, furniture and antique refinishing, reproductions, calligraphy, graphic design, set design, and book illustration.

April is also a dedicated art educator, with years of experience teaching students of all ages through schools, private lessons, and small groups. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she enjoys raising her three daughters, gardening, singing, and celebrating the beauty of God’s natural creation. Though passionate about ice skating, it remains a rare activity in the South.

At Gray Man Gallery, April is recognized not only for her versatile artwork but also for painting the stunning bathroom mural that enhances the gallery’s unique atmosphere.
